I just sent out mail to educators.chi announcing the creation of chi-educators.
I'll gather feedback (I hope not in the form of hate mail) for the move
of other lists.  On Dec. 1, 1996, I'd like the xerox alias:
    educators.chi@xerox.com
to point to:
    chi-educators@acm.org
instead of where it now points (to somewhere at cis.ohio-state.edu).
I realize that this change does nothing for xerox.com,
but it is necessary because my OSU files for forwarding will be going away.
It will be a good test case from the point of view of the users.
Because of the way things were done at OSU, I never stored names,
so I can't just transfer the lists as they now exist,
so I sent out mail about a enrollment period from now until Dec. 1.

The big open lists might be transferable, if you can provide
the list owners (I hope I do not end up owning them all)
with email addresses and full names.  Even with an email address
and full name it might not work out well because the email address
should be one that they can send mail from to change their options.

I think we will be moving the official SIGCHI lists differently
than the open lists, mainly because they are hierarchical.

Just letting you know that things are actually starting to happen.
