Dear Yaling Hsiao,

There are only the DOS applications in DOS-STAT.ZIP mentioned below.
You just unzip the exe files and place them in a directory on your path.
The commands are executed from a command.com command line.

I hope that is helpful.

We only work with a few, carefully selected schools. Our prices are unbeatable, we guarantee lowest prices available. These and other reasons are why we have been awarded by the renown Language Travel Magazin as the best Language Travel Agency in Europe in 2007, 2008 and 2009!

Dear Jacob,

I don't recall discussing this with James Landay, but I don't claim to have a good memory.

In any case, I think that UW has mountains of strength in hci so I am happy to add it to my list.

I did something different with your entry:
 	http://www.hcibib.org/bs.cgi?searchtype=topedu&query=U.dub.washington.edu
which was to include your faculty list from
 	http://dub.washington.edu/people
so users could see their pubs in the hcibib. Maybe I should not have added
the adjunct faculty; please let me know. I should do it for the other programs.

I also think it might be nice to have a list of keywords for the programs,
which might simply be a list of topic areas, such as from:
 	http://dub.washington.edu/projects
What do you think?

Thanks for making the request (or reminding me).

> The schools you have listed are indeed fitting there, and we can make many arguments as to why the University of Washington belongs there. A few quick arguments: We have active HCI faculty in 4 major departments on campus that come together to form the DUB Group, which is our answer to CMU's HCI Institute, but not housed as a single department. (Visit http://dub.washington.edu/ to see more.) UW has had the most or second-most publications of any academic institution at CHI since 2007. (The only school ahead of us has been CMU.) UW also has the most CHI best paper awards (not nominations, but full awards) of any university, even more than CMU. (UW currently has 6, CMU 5.) UW has also had major presences as UIST, Ubicomp, and ASSETS conferences, often being the most-published University there. We are in the process of creating an interdisciplinary MHCI degree that will be jointly shared among the 4 departments I referred to above. And across those units, we already have scores of Ph.D. students doing HCI Ph.D. work.

Dear Rusty,

I can't vouch for the versions you point to below. They are not authorized, except for netlib, I think,
but they are probably fine. Per the comment in the code, it comes from ACM's collected algorithms:

Adapted from a polynomial approximation in:
 	Ibbetson D, Algorithm 209
Collected Algorithms of the CACM 1963 p. 616

Given ACM's policies on collected algorithms, I am confident that you can use the code.
My restrictions on my code are that you may not distribute any code that has been
modified in any way.
 	http://hcibib.org/perlman/stat/#conditions
explained here:
 	http://hcibib.org/perlman/stat/history.html#conditions
I do not think that you will find it necessary to modify that particular function,
although you may wrap other code around it.

Best of luck with your dissertation.

Gary
