Hi Gargy,

So nice to hear from thee. I very much enjoyed the pictures posted on your
website. I haven't looked at every one yet, but I call a few up a day when I
am in at the NFB, where I have fast and unlimited internet access. I keep a
few pix on the screen, like people used to have baby pix on their desk.
Haven't seen the video yet.

Oh dear about George! That must have been terrible. I hope all is fine now.
Does Mum know about this? Sandy's son Jake had seizures when he was young,
but he did outgrow them and has been fine.

We went to the country last wekend, and the trout have survived the winter,
and some have eggs!

Mum took a group out to lunch on Friday. It was what she planned to do when
she got out of the hospital in January. She seemed a little weak, and she
said it exhausted her. It was pleasant. The group was: Sheila, Phil, Judith,
me, Maria, and her podiatrist friend Marie.

I recently found a hilarious website you should check out -
http://www.goblertoys.com/toys.html

Love to y'all, Janet

We can settle up on the conputer in December.
I'll deposit a cheque to my account there,
I don't care much if I pay more or less.
I'm sure you will incur expenses for supplies
or a new mouse, etc., so how about if I pay $1250?

Mark is having a great time in school and is a total
soccer and Pokeman maniac. I colored a white soccer
ball like a Poke ball, but the colors wipe off some
(permanent on "most" surfaces). George has been
having some minor but irritating health problems,
but overall, he is doing well. He like Pokemon
and Teletubbies and carries around beanies of both.
Caroline and I are always busy-busy. We'd spend more
time on the new patio, but we don't have time. Soon,
there should be a new play towr near the patio, so maybe
we will spend more time back there. I say "should"
because I should finish assembling the tower to get
my garage spot back!

My car broke down today. As it was having problems
while I was driving, I was on the cell phone with
the shop. Then it died and I called AAA for a tow.
Very convenient, and it was a beautiful fall day
for a breakdown.

Have you ever read Roz Chast cartoons? I just reread
all of her books, except for the one I just ordered.
I can't figure out why some of her cartoons leave
me breathless and teary with laughter.

Hi to Judith,

love, Gaga

Like many kid (and non-kid) projects on the web,
the author may be long gone. But with Pokemon
icons, it's probably recent.

I htink they'd get a kick out of hearing from you
after this great homage to the book.

Hi,

Thanks. I sent him something average size.
I did not want to fill the room.
I wrote "Thinking of you. Love Gary & Caroline"

I was torn between saying something about
overcoming adversity or counting his blessings,
or something amusing, like "Phil will go to great
lengths to seek attention", to even something
extermely inappropriate like "Hope you get
back on your feet soon." I wish I could cheer
things up, but it's just not a cheery time.
I just hope he and Sheila can cope.

love

I sent flowers from all yesterday.

I don't have the times with me, but can get them tonight.
I arrive with the boys Weds mid day and Caroline arrives later.

We still haven't worked out the schedule.
When is the house (Conner's) available?
We did not want to arrive in Montreal and leave right away.
Maybe go to the countryside on Friday and return Sunday or Monday?

Have fun at the Ritz. Love to Mum. We'll be phoning at dinner time.

love, gaggu

Hi Jan,

Mum probably mentioned it, but...

I sold my condo in Brookline. I always wanted to sell it,
but until recently, the market had been depressed.
Frankly, I was motivated in August by a postcard I got from a Century 21 agent
just across Beacon Street. I contacted my renter about the possibility,
and she told me she was moving out at the end of September!
My agent got the place ready, and sold it to someone moving in
at the start of October. The market was at its peak
(although it could go higher) and I got $285K. Am I lucky, or what?
Capital gains on a depreciated property will cost me $50K in April,
but it's still a huge windfall.

I look forward to many years without maintenance calls from 750 miles away.

Gary
